[ Safari service( Far East - South Africa) to be rearranged ]
As NYK will be withdrawn from safari service by December 31, 1994, Korea
Maritime Co., Ltd., as safari ROK chairman, announced the rearranged
service.
In confirming their continuing commitment to serve the trade between Far
East and South Africa, with a dedicated service, Nedlloyd Lines, Mitsui
O.S.K. Line, K-Line and Safmarine are continue to operate the Safari
service 1995 onwards.
For the time being, the present pattern of the safari service, with 6
vessels of 1,850 TEU capacity and a frequency of 10 days will be conti-
nued.
Schedule integrity and fast transits to/from a wide range of ports remain
as the foundation of high quality service.
To reinforce this foundation, an upgrade of the service to a weekly fre-
quency is now being considered. The time of the actual implementation
will be weighed with due regard to market development.
