Dirk Gindl appointed manager of Rickmers Linie agency, Hamburg

Dirk Gindl has been appointed to the position of manager of Rickmers Linie agency, Hamburg, effective from 1 March 2002. He succeeds Jan Sellmer, who passed away unexpectedly in November of last year.

Dirk Gindl will be responsible for Rickmers’ local and national shipping services. These will include services from Europe to the US, Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Persian Gulf as well as Asia to the US. A major part of Mr Gindl’s tasks will include the round-the-world Pearl String service, which, with the phasing in of nine newbuildings, will be implemented from the end of 2002. With his experience in the bulk and project sectors, Mr Gindl will be able to develop the agency’s activities further.

Dirk Gindle joins Rickmers after nine years with liner agency Peter W Lampke, Hamburg, where he was responsible for West African services as well as for services to Cuba, Mexico and the US Gulf. Positions previous to this were in the shipment department of Hamburg-based liner agency Helm as well as with Wm H M?ller, also of Hamburg, where he was in charge of the Turkey service.
