[ OOCL INTRODUCES JAPAN/MALAYSIA EXPRESS SERVICE ]
Global container line Orient Overseas Container Line(OOCL) today annou
nced the inauguration of Japan/Malaysia Express Service(JMX Service),
through a slot charter agreement with its Japanese partner Mitsui O.S.
K. Lines, with immediate effect.
This fixed day weekly service will call at Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Ko
ba, Hong Kong, Singapore and Port Klang. The south bound service from
Tokyo to Port Klang started on 4 March while the first north bound sai
ling will be on 15 March.
“This service, offering probably the best transit times between most
ports, caters for the increasing demand for cargo carrying space betwe
en Japan and Malaysia as well as for reefers from Port Klang and Singa
pore to Japan,” said Mr Bosco Louie, Director of Operations, OOCL (As
ia Pacific) Ltd.
Mr Louie added that it is part of the company’s plan to further enhan
ce its intra-Asia service network servicing the increasing demand of t
he region and to provide customers with efficient and reliable service
