[ Bureau Veritas Focuses on Passenger Ship Safety ]
Leading Classification Society, Bureau Veritas, has focused attention
on passenger ship safety. In the latest edition of its Bulletin Techni
que, BV analyses the recent development of regulations for ro-ro passe
nger ferries, and examines structural criteria for passenger ships.
Also in the bulletin is a full description of the criteria now applica
ble to high speed craft. BV has developed HSPEED, a powerful computer
program for calculating rule scantlings for high speed craft built in
either steel or aluminum built, and most of them are in the 30m to 40
m length bracket.
The bulletin has a full analysis of the links between the ISM Code and
ISO9002 certification, and shows how companies can costs and improve
efficiency by reconciling the two processes.
Copies of the bulletin will be available from the Bureau Veritas stand
at the Seatrade Cruise Exibition in Miami, USA on March 12th~16th.
