P&O Nedlloyd gears up to serve on-dock service in PECT
PECT and P&O Nedlloyd inked a contract to provide on-dock services November 9th in a PECT meeting room.
P&O Nedlloyd, which has handled 270 thousand conta-iners annually by deploying 24 vessels in PECT, became the third shipping liner to offer on-dock servi-ces in PECT, following OOCL, and APL. With this contract, P&O Nedlloyd can acquire berths at any time, and PECT can profit by handling the on-dock system for over half of the cargoes.
PECT now has a 15-meter deep berth to support Panamax vessels and a 300 thousand container yard. As cargoes handled in the on-dock system increased, PECT pursued the expansion of a 60,000 CY, and a 200-meter berth expansion.
