Installment of Latest Models of Simulators for Specialized Carriers Tr
ansporting Dangerous Liquid Shipments.
“K”LINE has placed an order with Kawasake Heavy Industries, Ltd. for
the latest models of simulators for training on cargo handling and bo
iler operations onboard the specialized carriers ; LNG carriers, LPG c
arriers and Oil tankers.
The latest models of simulators consist of simulator for LNG carriers,
LPG carriers and Oil tankers.
The simulator for LNG carriers has the functions of the Integrated Mon
itoring System allowing for the automated cargo handling operations. I
n the meantime the Oil tanker simulator is designed to be workable for
a double-hull tanker. With valve and pump operations on a life-sized
control console, we are able to flexibly change a liquid position and
pressure of tank at a speed ranging from real time to 50 times as fast
according to an objective for training. Such capabilities make it pos
sible for us to drill trainees, giving them a sense of presence, as if
they are operating onboard in reality, together with sound effects cr
eated by sounds of working safe valves and pump cavitation. A variety
of difficult cases such as malfunctions of machines/state of emergency
are analyzed and electronically rearranged into simulators on softwar
e jointly utilizing “K”LINE’s long experience and KHI’s technology
.
