[ Norasia Strengthens Role With New Pacific Svc. ]
Norasia is to start a new transpacific service between Yantian/Hong Ko
ng and Long Beach from December 4. The service, with a 12day transit t
ime, will be served with four containerships with speeds of 25knots. I
nchcape Shipping Services has been confirmed as Norasia’s agent in No
rth America. The new service follows the carrier’s earlier APX servic
e in the Pacific Northwest in May.
Norasia, which plans to restructure its management and agency in the U
.S. and Canada, has appointed Andy Russell as head of its activities i
n North America. Russell will retain his present responsibilities with
Norasia China until a successor is appointed. In addition, Anil Dhawa
n will relocate from Dubai to Los Angeles to take charge of Norasia’s
operations on the North American West Coast. The new service will cal
l at Yantian, Hong Kong, Keelung, Long Beach and Oakland, while the AP
X Pacific Northwest service will add calls at Yantian and Seattle, and
possibly at Portland.
