Uniglory and COSCO to Launch a Joint Service from China to the Middle
East

Uniglory Marine Corp and COSCO Container Lines have signed an agreeme
nt to launch a new weekly joint service, known as the CPG service, lin
king main ports in China, South East Asia and the Middle East Gulf. Th
rough this service cooperation, both Uniglory and COSCO anticipate bet
ter slot utilisation as well as lower operating costs.
Uniglory will contribute two 1,600TEU charter vessels to the route, w
hich will commence on 25 October 1999. COSCO will contribute five ship
s of approximately the same size.
The first sailing in the new service will be made by the 1699TEU COSC
O vessel Song He (V142W) which is due to arrive Xingang on 24 October.
The port rotation for the CPG service is Xingang, Shanghai, Hong Kong
, Singapore, Dubai, Karachi, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kon
g, Xingang.
The new service has been formulated in response to customer demand an
d changing trade patterns. Uniglory and COSCO decided to pool their ex
perience, knowledge and technical resources to provide a better to the
ir customers.
Uniglory’s existing services to the Arabian Gulf remain unchanged. T
hese are:
The APG cervice: Taiching, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo,
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Dammam.
The APS service: Pusan, Hakata, Taichung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colom
bo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Karachi, Nhava Sheva (Mumbai), Singapore, Singap
ore, Kuantan, Hong Kong, Taichung, Kaogsiung, Pusan.
The APM service: Jubail, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jubail, Nhava Sheva, Mumba
i, Dubai, Abu Dhabi.
