SHI Celebrates 32nd birthday

Celebrating the 32nd anniversary of its foundation, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) held an celebratory event at the grand hall of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies building at 3:00 pm on the 18th (Wednesday) with executives and staff from its Seoul area as well as the construction division on hand.

During the days event, CEO of SHI, Jing Wan, Kim expressed his appreciation to the executives and staff, saying, "I’m very proud of Samsung Heavy Industries, as it is fair to say it has been treading a very thorny path riddled with hardship and adversity, to become today’s global leader in the shipbuilding and marine market.” He then asked to those present,“As our company has been developing through the application of new techniques in places that nobody in the world thought about, each of you have to reinvent yourselves through innovative thinking. ”

Meanwhile, a total of 1,962 executives, staff and suppliers were awarded at the ceremony. Among them, six were granted the title of Heavy Industries Artisan, while 16 were awarded in the Customer Satisfaction area and six in the Social Service area. Furthermore, 1,755 were acknowledged for their continuous service and 164 for exemplary performance.
