[ Grand Opening of New Facility in Sydney, Australia ]
More than 250 guests and senior Danzas executives were on hand for the
opening ceremony of the new Dazas facility in Sydney, Australia. The
New South Wales Premier Bob Carr congratulated Danzas in his opening
address, saying it demonstrates Danzas’ commitment to the importing
and exporting community and the investment reflects their confidence i
n the state’s economy.
Strategically located close to Sydney’s air-and seaports, the new fac
ility will contribute to Danzas’ booming transport businesss in Austr
alia. Visiting from Switzerland, CEO of the Danzas Group, Mr. Peter W
agner, said that in 1996 alone, Danzas Sydney handled more than 25,000
international shipments weighting over 44,000 tons. He also stated,
“ In new South Wales we have increased our business every year and we
are doubling our export vloume on average every four years. We are c
onvinced that by moving our activities into this terminal, we have cre
ated an environment to support and assist exporters and importers in t
heir international transportation activities.”
The new building includes 20,000 squares feet of warehouse space, mode
rn cargo handling facilities, and a state of the art chilled storage a
rea equipped with special humidifiers to maintain moisture levels and
ensure safe transport of perishable goods.These special “coolrooms”
can maintain temperatures from -25 to + 10℃, making them ideal for ca
rgoes ranging from meat and seafood to fruits and vegetables.
Having been in constant growth in recent years, Danzas has developed i
nto the leading air-and ocean freight forwarder in Australia. Danzas
is present in alll major Australian centers of industry and trade. A
total of 250 employees operate out of offices located in Melbourne, Sy
dney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Port Lincoln, as well as Hobart in Ta
sminia.
