Mokpo New Port joins HMM Korea-Middle East service
Mokpo New Port opened a new container route connecting Mokpo - Taiwan - Hong Kong - Singapore - Malaysia - Pakistan - Middle East.
The Mokpo New Port Company announced that HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine) will expand their KMS (Korea - Middle East Service) service to Mokpo Port on March 2. The 'Hyundai Advance' vessel operating in the KMS service called at Mokpo Port on March 2.
The KMS liner container service calls at Mokpo - Kwangyang - Pusan - Taiwan - Singapore - Malaysia - Pakistan - Middle East. HMM will call at Mokpo New Port once monthly, and will increase calling times to once weekly.
Mokpo New Port has increased its importance as a hub port in the Yellow Sea by opening container liner services connecting Asia and the Middle East. It offered container services between Korea and Japan for the first time in 108 years in February of last year.
