BPA appoints new chairperson
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries (MOMAF) announced January 31 that they appointed Cho Young Tak, a chairman of the Busan Port Labor Union, as a new member of Busan Port Authority (BPA) to fill their member vacancy.
Mr. Cho has been a chairman of the Busan Port Training Institute, an advisory member of the BPA Establishment Promotion Planning Group, and a vice-chairman of the Korea Federation of Port Labor Union since he joined the union in 1983. He will work as a member of BPA until December 3 of this year, i.e. for the duration of the term of the former BPA official.
Since a chairman of Busan Port Labor Union may participate as a member of BPA, it is advantageous to operate Pusan Port through close cooperation between members in management, the union and port authority.
