BPA (Busan Port Authority) held a CI (Corporate Identity) announcement ceremony February 27. BPA concluded the formal CI through an open bid with its opening ceremony January 16. The authority celebrated the birth of the new CI with staff and attendees in their grand meeting room at their head office February 27.
The BPA symbol comes from the acronym for 'Busan Port Authority', i.e. BPA. The new symbol was designed as handwriting to express its distinction and originality.
The cobalt color of the mark represents the challenge of the authority for the future and the high seas. The orange inverse triangle symbolizes passion, vision and the values of the authority. The contrast between the cobalt blue and orange symbolizes the BPA's pursuit of strong distinction amongst competitive ports.
To start a publicity campaign, BPA will submit information about Pusan Port to the presidents of several main Asian ports from March 2 to 4 at 'TOC Asia 2004' in Singapore.
The authority will supervise 'The 5th IAPH (International Association of Ports and Harbors) Asia, Oceania regional meeting' jointly from March 16~19 in Pusan to inform on international interchanges, relations improvements and cooperation with Pusan Port.
One official from BPA said, "We will endeavor to gain practical business results through raising the image and competitiveness of Pusan Port by participating in domestic and international port events."
