Hanjin shipping deployed a 5,750 TEU class vessel into its transpacific service
Hanjin Shipping deployed the Hanjin Chicago, a 5,750 TEU class vessel into its transpacific service.
Hanjin Shipping added the Hanjin Chicago to its 5,000-or-above TEU class fleet. The 5,750 TEU class vessel is deployed into Hanjin's Transpacific CAX (China America Express I) service and will make its maiden voyage departing from Gwangyang on July 24.
The Hanjin Chicago, built by Hanjin Heavy Industries, is chartered long-term from GEBAB, a German company, and is the 22nd vessel in the 5,000-or-above TEU class fleet that Hanjin Shipping operates.
The Hanjin Chicago has a carrying capacity of 68,000 DWT with a length of 279 meters, a width of 40m and a maximum speed of 26.3 knots.
By adding the Hanjin Chicago to its fleet, Hanjin Shipping expects to strengthen its transpacific service, enhancing transport efficiency of the volume departing from China and Asia as well as its customer service quality.
Hanjin Shipping already deployed three 5,750 TEU class vessels this year, the Hanjin Basel, the Hanjin Lisbon and the Hanjin Madrid in March, April and June respectively.
The port rotation for Hanjin Shipping's CAX service is as follows: Ningbo / Shanghai / Gwangyang / Pusan / Long Beach / Oakland / Pusan / Ningbo.
