Pusan Customs inspects manifests after hours
KIFFA (Korea International Freight Forwarders Association) announced that Pusan Customs will conduct manifest inspections after office hours when requested for manifests during non-business hours, i.e. between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m.
Some shipping companies have expressed discontent calling it irrational because they would incur extra freight charges as cargoes are re-carried from the CY to the manifest inspection area appointed place by Customs.
Consequently, Pusan Customs asked shipping companies to declare cargoes to a stevedore and send cargoes directly to the inspection area to avoid the additional fees.
