Pan Ocean Shipping establishes POS I & C

POS I & C Corp. separated from the Information Technology department at Pan Ocean Shipping, the nation's largest bulk liner, capitalized at 300 million won, it said.

Pan Ocean spun off its Information System Management sector August 1st, which will allow it to concentrate more on its main business.

The newborn POS I & C is expected to be profitable with its extensive 20 years of experience in developing maritime information systems for Pan Ocean Shipping. It will provide shipping and forwarding companies with systems consulting, systems development and management, inter-corporation e-commerce and e-solutions, land and sea communication systems, and hardware and software development.

The spin off is part of Pan Ocean Shipping's attempts to strengthen its competitiveness by focusing in specialized areas such as vessels, crew management, and shipping industry agencies.
