Thierry Le Roux appointed OTAL Managing Director
West Africa shipping specialist and transport operator, OT Africa Line (OTAL) is pleased to announce that Thierry Le Roux has been appointed Managing Director. Mr Le Roux steps in to replace Sean Gay who, after 26 years with OTAL, is to pursue other shipping interests in line management, vessel operating and shipbroking. Sean Gay remains associated with the OTAL brand becoming a non-executive member of the OTAL board.
Mr Le Roux is a familiar figure on the international shipping scene, having entered the industry in 1976 working for Chargeurs Reunis after a short spell in the French Merchant Navy. Mr Le Roux then went on to work for shipping agent and land-side operator SDV in both the Congo and Cote d'Ivoire. In 1994, he moved within the Bollore group to became Country Manager covering Ghana.
Mr Le Roux commented:
"It is a great pleasure and a privilege to take over the helm of such a respected and dynamic organisation. OTAL has a terrific reputation in West African shipping circles and I hope my years of experience in the sub-region - both maritime and on a land side basis - will enable me to continue the expertise that has been an evident part of OTAL's management.
"I look forward to developing the OTAL brand - which I believe is one of the finest in African maritime transport, and making sure our customer services remain as high as they always have been."
