Export cargoes recover levels in February
North American bound container cargoes have been on the rise since February after they plunged last November.
According to a survey of concerned industries, export cargoes moving to North America from Korea stood at 40,501 TEU in February, up 13 percent from a month earlier.
Broken down by liner, Hanjin Shipping held the lion's share, carrying 8,747 TEU or 21.57 percent of the total. Hyundai Merchant Marine followed with 6,145 TEU or a 15.15% share. Choyang saw 3.58 percent coverage in this trade with 1,453 TEU carriage.
Out of foreign shipping firms, Zim, an Israeli shipping line, marked the highest share, 10.04 percent with 4,073 TEU. Maersk-Sealand held a 8.51 percent share with 3,450 TEU.
