Swire Shipping Enhancement of PNG Service
Swire Shipping announced another upgrade to one of their services Papua New Guinea (PNG).
The North Asia service directly connects PNG with ports in China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan as well as ports throughout the Pacific.
This service upgrade has allowed Swire Shipping to offer a market leading three sailings per month into Port Moresby and Lae plus a monthly direct call to Rabaul from North Asia ports. The upgrade also sees the introduction of direct Hong Kong calls two times per month.
With this enhanced frequency and the types of vessels used on this service, Swire Shipping are offering their clients more and more options for the movement of breakbulk and containerized cargoes out of North Asia.
Swire Shipping Line Manager, Jeremy Sutton, said, "We believe that the additional capacity and increased frequency we are building into this service, coupled with our long standing high service levels on our South East Asian and Australian/NZ services, will assist all our clients in PNG by reducing their lead times and allowing them to reduce their investment in working capital."
These service upgrades are a testament to Swire Shipping's strong commitment to Papua New Guinea and its people, which spans over 60 years. <Korea Shipping Gazette>
