BPA embark on Hunchun-Zarubino logistics project
Busan Port Authority (BPA) embarked on the Hunchun-Zarubino logistics project in earnest as part of an effort to establish global networks, following the Nakhodka Port development project. The project connecting Hunchun of China, Zarubino of Russia and Busan of Korea is expected to increase cargo volume.
BPA said that Chinese and Russian delegations visited Busan Port and exchanged development visions on February 23, taking a tour around Busan Port.
In a meeting with BPA president, Rho, Ki-tae, the delegation asked for BPA? close cooperation regarding with the project after being briefed on the current status and future development vision of Busan Port.
They took ?aenuri? port guide ship, to tour around Busan Port, lavishing their praises on the scale of Busan Port.
If the project completes successfully, cargoes collected in Hunchun will be transported to Zarubino Port by land and then to Busan Port by water. As part of the project, an inland container terminal development in Hunchun and transformation of Zarubino Port to a container port will be carried out. The Hunchun government in China, Trans Group in Russia and 3 Korean logistics companies including BPA are taking part in the Hunchun-Zarubino logistics project.
