Coscon's COSCO Manila service starts calling at SICT
SHANTOU International Container Terminals (SICT) has announced that COSCO COSCO Container Lines?new Manila service has begun calling at SICT every Thursday.
The first ship to call at the terminal was the Huai Ji He. The port rotation for the service is: Shantou, Hong Kong and Manila.
?his is Cosco? COSCO? second Intra-Asia service following the Southeast Asia service that commenced in October 2006. With this new service at SICT, the trade lanes between Shantou and southeast Asia are further enhanced. SICT had implemented the vessel stowage planning system, ?uider? in May to improve our operational efficiency. The stowage planning process of this Manila service has improved by 40 per cent,?said David Wu, general manager of SICT in a statement.
Shantou International Container Terminals is a joint venture between Hutchison Delta Ports (HDP) and Shantou Port Authority in Shantou, Guangdong province. SICT commenced operations in 1997 and is a member of the wider HDP network that currently operates three coastal and three river ports in southern China.
