Gwangyang phase 3-1 terminal get into operation

A C/C is ready to be operated in full swing in phase 3-1 terminal. According to KCTA, two C/Cs out of the originally planned 8 units wereinstalled.

This crane is a very large unit capable of 10,200 TEU to keep up with mega-trend of vessels, which is the biggest capability in the nation of handling (pull 180m/min, transverse 240m/min).

In addition, Twin Lift Spreader was introduced to enhance productivity that can deal with two 20-feet containers at the same time.For safety reason, this system was designed to endure 60m wind velocity per second with emergency brake added to each gear drive coupled with state-of-the art IT technology.

This advanced system will bring improved productivity of the Port and safer and speedier services for customers. Meanwhile, the Authority will complete installation of the rest of phase 3-1 six C/Cs by June this year.
