BPA celebrates the 2nd anniversary

BPA (Busan Port Authority) held a 2nd anniversary celebration on 16 Jan. 16. BPA has shown strong determination to foster the Port of Busan as a major hub port in Northeast Asia.

Junseok Chu, the BPA president, In-Su, Lee, the Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office adminis trator and staffs of BPA attended in this event.

Junseok Chu, BPA president, emphasized at the ceremony that Busan Port? international competitiveness is the most important thing for it to become a major hub in Northeast Asia.

He said that in order to achieve their goals, they should be committed to pursue the Busan New Port Construction Project as it will herald a new era for Busan Port. He added that more concerted efforts are necessary to improve port services as well as to review the productivity of the current port.

Mr. Lee from the Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Geo Don Oh, saying that BPA plays the pivotal role in management and operation of Busan Port, and should mobilize its resources to compete with other major ports such as Hong Kong Port and Shanghai Port.
