Hamburg Sud, Alianca and NYK Line announce enhancement of their new good Hope express service
Following the demand from their customers for more space, faster transits and a broad port coverage, Hamburg Sud, Alianca and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) will add a second string to their existing New Good Hope Express Service (NGX) in the trade between Asia-South Africa and the East Coast of South America.
String 1 will be run by ten 2,500 TEU vessels and will have following rotation:
Nagoya-Yokohama-Pusan-Hong Kong-Singapore-Durban-Santos-Itajai-Paranagua-Santos-Singapore-Hong Kong-Nagoya.
String 2 will operate by ten 1,700 TEU vessels with the following rotation:
Shanghai - Ningbo - Keelung - Yantian - Laem Chabang - Singapore - Buenos Aires - Rio Grande - Santos - Sepitiba - Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai.
The combination of both strings will enhance the scope of directly covered ports by the service and improve transit-times substantially to and from key ports. From June 2005 onwards, String 2 will be run on a fortnightly basis, with full implementation of the two-string operation on a weekly fixed-day basis beginning in mid-August 2005.
