Dongnama Shipping introduces 5-day workweek

Dongnama Shipping introduced a 5-day workweek from January 1.
An insider from the company said, "We started a 5-day workweek to raise staff morale and to increase chances for staff education and to provide for the 5-day workweek system operation set for July 1, next year," and added "This system will start June first. We understand there may be problems with it for different teams but will solve them as they come."
First, the company will preserve the existing 5-day workweek by using monthly holidays and annual vacation. In the case conflicts related to vessel operation and customer service, the company will start the system with some flexibility by regulating holidays of some staff.
The insider from this company said, "We will concentrate on improving productivity during the week so as to not inconvenience customers with it" and added "Meanwhile, we'll also reinforce the emergency call network to protect against performance failures. Each team has explained the 5-day workweek to business connections and customers in advance to prevent errors and missed deadlines from miscommunication."
