Hapag-Lloyd expends its network in Adriatic ports - Egypt

Hapag-Lloyd noticed that the carrier will launch Adriatic Express Service (ADX) starts in May.

From the beginning of May, Hapag-Lloyd will be offering a new express connection between the Adriatic and the Egyptian ports of Port Said and Damietta, both of which are important hubs in Hapag-Lloyd's global service network.

The Adriatic Express Service (ADX) links Port Said and Damietta directly with Rijeka, Koper, Venice and Ancona with weekly sailings. The transit time from Port   Said to Koper is just four days and to Venice six days. The rotation will be Rijeka, Koper, Venice, Ancona, Port Said and Damietta, while connecting to Far East, India, Australia and USA.

The Egyptian ports have numerous attractive onward options within Hapag-Lloyd's global network, including in particular connections to the Far East and India as well as to Oceania, the USA, Northern Europe, the western Mediterranean and the Black Sea region.

The two 1,200-TEU ships used for the Adriatic Express Service are equipped with sufficient reefer plugs. The ADX port rotation is as follows: Damietta, Port Said, Koper, Rijeka, Venice, Ancona, and back to Damietta.

In 2011, Hapag-Lloyd transported more than 5.2 million TEU and generated revenue of around EUR 6.1 billion. The company has around 6,900 employees at 300 sites in 114 countries.

It operates more than 84 of its own liner services and has an extensive feeder network, linking over 430 ports around the world. The total fleet (including charters) consists of some 150 vessels with a total capacity of nearly 680,000 TEU.
