Busan Port and Trieste Port of Italy signed an agreement for joint development
Busan Port Authority (BPA) and Trieste Port Authority (TPA) reached an agreement to facilitate mutual development by strengthening exchanges and cooperation. Lee-Gapsook, president of BPA met Claudio Boniciolli, visiting president of TPA and signed a memorandum of cooperation stipulating active sharing of information in the fields of port development & management, distri-park networking, and environment on October 18.
Trieste Port located at the bordering area with Slovenia and northern part of Adriatic Sea has played major feed port connecting Middle East and Far East Asia to Middle Europe since it was developed at the end of 18th century.
On the other hand, BPA jointly with Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs is conducting a feasibility study for a development & management of logistic platform in Trieste Port, a project to secure the shortest route to Eastern Europe market. It is said that the route using logistic platform of Trieste Port can save 7 days, compared to the existing route using Suez Canal and Hamburg Port.
