Hanjin Shipping to launch two new Korea-Malaysia services
Hanjin Shipping will start two new Korea-Malaysia services on September 9, by exchanging space with KMTC (Korea Marine Transportation Co., Ltd.) and STX Pan Ocean.
Hanjin Shipping will take slots from KMS (Korea-Malaysia Service) operated by KMTC and from NMS (New Malaysia Service) operated by STX Pan Ocean and in return provide the two carriers with slots from its NHS (New Hochiminh Service) and JIX (Japan Indonesia Express Service).
The two new services replace the existing IMS (Indonesia Malaysia Service). KMS will call at Busan, Gwangyang, Shanghai, Hong Kong, the Port of Kelang, Singapore, and Pasir Gudang while NSM will call at Busan, Incheon, Qingdao, Hong Kong, the Port of Kelang, and Singapore.
Hanjin Shipping expects KMS and NMS to gain a competitive edge by reducing transit times for Port of Kelang - US transshipment as well as save costs to make additional profits.
Korea's largest ocean carrier will continue to partner with local carriers to provide more reliable intra-Asia services and develop its own services in Asia.
