STX Shipbuilding receives orders for 12 ships
STX Shipbuilding announced May 18 that it received orders for 12 ships (7 optional ships included) worth 3.8 billion dollars from European shipowners.
STX Shipbuilding received the orders for 2,600 TEU class 4 and 6 container ships from Efshipping Co. S.A. in Greece and a shipowner company in Germany, and another order for a 45,800 DWT class 2 PCC from TransPetrol Service N.V. in Belgium.
This is the first time that STX Shipbuilding has gone into the German market, widely considered the best container ship market in the world.
the ship ordered from STX Shipbuilding is 210 meters long, 30.1 meters wide, 16.7 meters high and will serve 22.1 knots at full speed, while the PCC is 183 meters long, 32.2 meters wide, 19.1 meters high and will serve 14.9 knots at full speed.
