ANL, Evergreen and Hanjin to launch new Australia/North Asia
ANL Container Line, Evergreen Marine Corporation and Hanjin Shipping are to launch a new initiative in the Australia ? Japan/Korea/Taiwan trade. The three lines will join together to operate five vessels, each of approximately 2200TEU, on a fixed day weekly service calling East Coast Australia ports and ports in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
The new schedule, designated the North Asia Australia Express (NAX) service, brings together the expertise and reliability of three long-established shipping lines and will have its first sailing from Yokohama in the middle of May.
The lines believe the new service will be particularly attractive to shippers and consignees given that it combines the benefits of fixed day of the week sailings with fast transits between major ports.
The new service port rotation will be:
Yokohama - Nagoya - Osaka - Pusan - Keelung - Kaohsiung - Sydney - Melbourne - Brisbane - Yokohama.
ANL is contributing three vessels to the service and Hanjin one while Evergreen will provide one vessel, LT Genova. Each ship will offer around 300 reefer slots.
