Korea/China liners charge THC to China

Korea/China liners including car-ferry carriers decided to charge THC (Terminal Handling Charge) on container cargoes bound to and from China from January 15.

They will levy 370 RMB for dry 20 foot equivalent units (TEU) and 560 RMB for dry 40 foot equivalent units (FEU), while 20 foot reefer cargoes will be charged 410 RMB and 40 foot reefer cargoes 610 RMB.

However, Southern China would like to continue its ORC (Origin Receiving Charge), which adds $105 per TEU, $210 per FEU, and $310 per reefer FEU.

China will apply the THC for cargoes headed for the Middle East, Southwest Asia, and Southeast Asia, including Korea, Australia, Europe, and the US from the same day, January 15.
