The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) has agreed to work with Schenker Korea, part of the leading global logistics company DB Schenker, to implement the German ‘Vocational Education (Berufsbildung)‘ program in Korea.
On August 21, at the KGCCI office located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, KGCCI gathered with Schenker Korea to sign the agreement and to announce the official launch of the ‘Logistics Specialist Training Program’ which is targeting college graduates for the first time in Korea.
Following the German vocational educations program for Auto-Mechatroniker and Florist professions, this Logistics Specialist training program was jointly developed by KGCCI and Schenker Korea. It is based on German curriculums and incorporates by the latest logistics technologies.
New employees, who got selected through the recruitment process by Schenker Korea which began in July, will gain the knowledge and skills needed for the job from trainers who have been qualified with 100 hours of German training. The core of the program focuses on knowledge and skills needed in daily operative business.
Through this program, new employees at Schenker Korea will be given opportunities to participate in KGCCI’s soft skill trainings, overseas experience in Schenker‘s global offices, and various business projects. A certificate issued by KGCCI will be given to participants upon the completion of the 12 months program.

In this respect, KGCCI will continue to cooperate with companies and related organizations to expand the German Vocational Education in order to contribute to job creation and to foster manpower with advanced professional skills and high employee engagement in preparation of the rapidly shrinking workforce.
