BPA boosts cruise industry with largest cruise exhibition in Asia
Busan Port Authority (BPA) put their various efforts into vitalizing the cruise industry by joining Asia's largest cruise association, ACA (Asia Cruise Association).
ACA, headquartered in Singapore, was established in 2009 to develop the cruise industry in Asia, and it is the largest Asian cruise association with 35 members including large cruise shipping companies and major Asian nations?tourism boards.
The association has carried out various activities including alleviating regulations related to cruise ships and suggesting policies to boost the cruise industry. BPA stated that they plan to work closely with ACA.
In particular, BPA will host Asia's largest cruise exhibition in June, 2014 Seatrade Cruise Korea, Busan, with Busan City and Korea Tourism Organization. Hence, it is expected to promote Busan Port through ACA.
The exhibition will be held from June 11th~14th in Bexco, Haeundae. It will consist of conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and 2,000 cruise officials will attend.
BPA President Ki-tack Lim stated, "Even though the cruise industry has grown rapidly, we can not continue to grow without joint collaboration and international networks with foreign shipping companies and other ports. Hence, we will try harder to attract more tourists to Busan Port through active participation in ACA." < Korea Shipping Gazette >
