Wan Hai Lines and Orient Overseas Container Line Jointly Offer Korea/M
iddle East Service
Wan Hai Lines Ltd.(WHL) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) anno
unced on Jan. 20 that they will jointly offer a new service to the Mid
dle East starting 1th April 2000. The new Korea/Middle East Service (K
MS) will provide customers with fast, reliable and high quality servic
es between this fast growing market and the Far East from Korea via Ta
iwan, Hong Kong, Singapore to the Middle East and Pakistan.
Six 1,200TEU vessels with sailing speed of 21.5 knots will be deployed
in this new fixed day weekly service. It will take 42days for a round
trip and the port rotation will be as follows;
Incheon(Sat/Sun), Kwangyang(Sun/Mon), Pusan(Mon/Tue),
Keelung(Thu/Thu), HongKong(Sat/Sat), Singapore(Tue/Wed),
Port Kelang(Wed/Thu), Dubai(Thu/Fri), Dammam(Sat/Sun),
Bandar Abbas(Mon/Mon), Karachi(Wed/Thu), Penang(Wed/Thu),
Singapore(Thu/Fri), HongKong(Tue/Tue), Keelung(Thu/Thu),
Incheon(Sat/Sun)
The launch of this new service will mark another major milestone for t
he two companies, both of whom are committed to offering quality Intra
-Asia services to their customers.
