CSAV volume down, average revenue up
CSAV’s volume of transported containers fell by 10 percent in June from May of this year, but the average revenue per container increased.
The Chilean carrier transported 271,500 TEU of containers in June, compared to 303,300 teu in May. Its monthly container volume grew 15.8 percent in June above volume in the same month a year ago. CSAV’s results for June are similar to those of Neptune Orient Lines, which also reported volume up 7 percent, but with revenue sliding 8 percent in the four-week period ended June 3.
CSAV said the index of its average revenue per TEU climbed by 4.7 percent over May, but was down by 12.5 percent from June a year earlier and down .008 percent from the beginning of this year.
