K-LINE, COSCON, YML reinforcing the TRANS-ATLANTIC SERVICES
COSCON, K-LINE and YANG MING announced details on their planned expans
ion in the trans-atlantic trade.
A total of nine vessels, including additional five vessels, will be de
ployed in the reinforced service, each carrier operating three vessels
. In order to provide the wide port coverage and best transit time, th
e vessels will be deployed in two individual loops, four vessels cover
ing the North Atlantic and the other five vessels the South Atlantic a
nd Gulf.
This new service structure will commence from the first week in Octobe
r and the port rotation is as follows: ▶ the North Atlantic loop: Ant
werp-Felixstowe-Bremerhaven-Rotterdam-Le Havre-New York (westbound)-Ba
ltimore-Norfolk-New York (eastbound)-Halifax-Antwerp ▶the South Atlan
tic and Gulf loop will cater a double call at both Antwerp and Charlst
on to arrange excellent transit time both eastbound and westbound, the
full rotation being: Antwerp (eastbound)-Felixtowe-Rotterdam-Bremerha
ven-Antwerp (westbound)-Le Havre-Charlston (westbound)-Miami-New Orlea
ns-Houston-Charleston (eastbound)-Antwerp. Miami will serve as a trans
shipment point for the growing Caribbean market.
