Maersk Line tweaks Intra-Asia service IA-1
Maersk Line announced a minor change to its Thailand-Japan service (IA-2) scheduled for July 1, 2008.
The new schedule offers an improved connection between Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan, with a buffer in the schedule for operational contingencies.
The new port rotation is as follows:
Laem Chabang, Thailand - Hong Kong - Tokyo, Japan - Yokohama, Japan - Kobe, Japan - Kaohsiung, Taiwan (South-bound only)- Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia - Laem Chabang, Thailand.
As of July 1, 2008, the IA-2 service will cease to call at Kaohsiung, Taiwan on its north bound voyage, and we will instead load cargo from Laem Chabang to Kaohsiung on alternative vessels within the existing Maersk Line network in Asia. This change also applies to cargo moving from Kaohsiung to Japan.
The first vessel in the new schedule will be the Maersk Pembroke, voyage 0819, departing from Laem Chabang, Thailand on July 1, 2008. <Korea Shipping Gazette>
