Tianjin mayor visits Busan Port

The mayor of Tianjin which signed the agreement for mutual exchanges and cooperation with the Busan Port visited Busan Port Authority (BPA) on October 30. Lee-gapsook, the president of BPA met Dai Xianglong, the mayor of Tianjin and explained about the current status of Busan Port, North Port development ant other development plans on the port guide ship, “Saenuri”.

The mayor in his visit to the East Asia City Cooperation Forum showed great interest in North Port development. Tianjin Port, one of the largest trading partner ports handled 700,000 TEU through Busan Port last year. 26 regular container lines are currently in service between the two ports. Tianjin has a population of 10 million people and is the third largest economic center in China with its GDP per capita standing at $ 4,300.
