Logistics companies move into Inchon airport FTZ
As logistics companies at home and abroad continue to move into the Inchon Airport FTZ (Free Trade Zone), plans to begin operations in March are in full swing and the FTZ is becoming a bustle of activity.
Inchon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) said on January 16, ?s construction of the logistics complex in the FTZ has recently been completed, 66 logistics companies have decided to move into the FTZ. The occupation rate now stands around 50%.?There are 57 domestic and 9 foreign companies moving into the FTZ.
The nine foreign companies include Shenker Korea, KWE Korea, NNR, ABX-Haeyoung, Exel, U-Freight, Expeditor, PaxGlobal, and Scanwell Express.
Companies that have completed their logistics facilities include Pan Korea Express, KWE Korea, and Samsung Electronics Logitech. Shenker Korea started building a logistics center in November last year.
Also, global logistics estate development companies AMB and Prologis have presented business proposals. IIAC has also been negotiating with Danzas, Hanjin-Isca, and Nippon Express.
The Airport Logistics complex is 600,000 pyeong (1Pyeong=3.058㎡). The first step in construction was recently completed with 300,000 pyeong finished at a cost of 113.1 billion won. The remaining 300,000 pyeong will be developed from this year.
