[ OOCL Announces Bombay to Malaysia Express Service ]
Hong Kong based Orient Overseas Container Line(OOCL) announced the
inauguration of a new fixed-day, weekly, express service connecting
Mumbai(Bombay), Port Kelang and Singapore(BMX). It is the first
direct service to ply this route between Mumbai(Bombay) and Port
Kelang.
Operated jointly by OOCL and Sea Consortium(XCL), the service offers
customers a transit time unmatched in the industry. Additionally,
customers benefit from the Advanced Berthing Reservation Scheme that
guarantees a berth in the busy port of Munbai(Bombay) and further
ensures the reliability of the service.
Says OOCL’s Niels Kim Balling, General Manager-Corporate Marketing:
“OOCL is delighted to introduce this fixed-day express service on
the Mumbai-Malaysia route with Sea Consortium. The fast connections
we offer should also prove particularly attractive to customers
looking to connect to and from the USA. Cargoes will be transhipped
in Port Kelang, for connection with our TransPacific services, and
will provide the fastest available connection to the US West Coast
gateway. Additionally, the new service will provide additional
strength to our Intra-Asia and Australia/New Zealand networks.”
Along with a reserved berth in Bonbay, the BMX service enjoys a
dedicated yard area, expediting the clearance of import and export
cargoes.
