Burlington Air Express Receives ISO Certification For Belgium

Burlington Air Express(BAX) has been granted ISO 9002 certification
for its main Begium operation.
BAX’s Brussels air freight operation passed its ISO audit and is now
one of the 146 Burlington worldwide locations that have ISO
certification.
In North America, there are 89 ISO certified BAX locations including
all U.S. and Canada BAX-owned operations. In Japan, BAX recently
received certification at its four key locations:Baraki;Narita;Osaka
and Tokyo. BAX’s air, ocean and air export operations in these
cities are now ISO certified.
“Bressels addition to our growing list of ISO certified stations
provides us with a competitive edge in Europe,”said Mark Carlson,
Vice President, Global Quality.
The International Organization of Standardization sets quality
management standards for organizations per internationally accepted
and recognized guidelines.
“ISO certification lays the foundation that ensures the same quality
process exists throughout our system,”said Carlson. “By meeting
ISO standards at all our locations, customers can count on BAX to
consistently provide quality service and control.”
ISO certification is a relatively new quality standard for U.S.
companies. Internationally, ISO certification is considered a top
indicator of a company’s commitment to standardized, quality
process.
The majority of BAX’s European and Asian offices are certified and
have passed periodic checks of conformance to ISO stnadards.
In addition to Belgium, BAX has received ISO 9002 certification for
its operations in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong,
India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden,Switzerland, Taiwan
and the United Kingdom. BAX’s three locations in Ireland recently
passed their audits and will be officially certified sometime in
March. Remaining BAX overseas locations are expected to have their
final audits conducted by mid-1997.
