[ Maersk Line Will Commence ]
a New Container Service for Namibia/Europe
Maersk Line is announcing the commencement of a new container service
linking Namibia and South Africa with Europe and North America. The
service will begin early 1997 and will offer sailings every two
weeks.
The vessels deployed will be fully cellular with large capacity for
integral refrigerated containers. The service will offer a wide
range of ports in the West-and East Mediterranean, North Europe,
Scandinavia, and the Baltic Sea, as well as door-to-door service of
both dry and reefer cargo to European inland destinations. Via
Maersk’s own hub terminal in Algeciras, Spain, the service will
connect with Maersk line main haul vessels to and from North America,
South America, Middle East, and West Africa.
