MOMAF looking for investors
MOMAF (Ministry of Maritime Affaires & Fisheries) has endeavored to attract 5~6 multipurpose logistic companies to Pusan Port and Kwangyang Port this year, and especially now is endeavoring to attract investment from Japanese companies.
Jang Seung Woo, a Minister of MOMAF, requested they invest in port hinterlands at a breakfast consultation with Japanese companies.
Minister Jang said, "We expect that Japanese companies could save on costs when they invest on in port hinterlands at Pusan Port and Kwangyang Port and this will be helpful for Korean Ports to become northeast Asian hub ports."
At the consultation, 20 Japanese companies expressed interested in port hinterlands for various industries like trade, logistics, and finance.
MOMAF concluded an agency contract to attract investment from J&K Logistics, a renowned Japanese logistic company, February 13. MOMAF will support the company to attract investment through things like quick and accurate information gathering and writing investment proposals .
Meanwhile Seo Jeong Ho, a leader of the MOMAF North East Asia Logistic Hub Driving Project, requested they help attract investment at a consultation with the presidents of Korean and Japanese shipping companies, February 26.
