3 operators of the world Top 5 candidates for Fos 2XL

On November 28th, 2003, the Board of Directors of the Port of Marseille Authority presented the results of the call for projects initiated on July 10th, 2003 for the operation of the Fos 2XL sea-land terminal.
Following the opening of the sealed tenders on October 16th 2003, three tenders were selected:
* The first tender from Portsynergy, a common subsidiary of CMA-CGM and of P&O Ports,
* The second one from MSC,
* The third tender comes from Maersk/Seayard.
All tenders are receivable since they come from groups which include one shipping company in the world Top 5 and as such they guarantee that the competences required in the specifications1 will be provided.
The PMA considers that the call to tenders has been a success since it was replied to by the 1st, 2nd and 5th world containership owners - Maersk, MSC and CMA-CGM respectively.
Moreover, the quality of these proposals bears witness of the appreciation of the Fos platform by these 3 major operators.
Following the discussions with the candidate groups, on technical,?financial and legal bases and in terms of traffic, the PMA will seek the means to meet its clients needs to the best of its abilities.
