Mr. Soo-Ho Cho named Hanjin Shipping's Chairman
Hanjin Shipping appointed Mr. Soo-Ho Cho to the Chairman on July 1. The Chairman position was left open since the late Chairman Choong-Hoon Cho passed away last November. Mr. Soo-Ho Cho had been leading Hanjin as the Vice Chairman. Considered quintessential to raise his authorities, his promotion to the Chairman, however, had been delayed by the grieving period for the late former Chairman Choong-Hoon Cho and the uncertainty in shipping market paused by the US strike on Iraq and the outbreak of SARS. Since he had been practically leading the entire Hanjin management, any separate inauguration ceremony was considered unnecessary.
The management will continue to focus on customer satisfaction and corporate development to enhance Hanjin's strength in international market. Chairman Soo-Ho Cho also controls Hanjin Shipping's affliates and subsidiaries: Keoyang Shipping, Cyber Logitec and Senator Lines. Consolidated assets topped KRW 6.1 trillion, and revenue, KRW 6.3 trillion last year
