Korea Marine Express launches 'JB2' jetfoil
Korea Marine Express announced that the launch of the 'JB2' jetfoil for Pusan ~ Fukuoka on July 1.
Korea Marine Express has been operating 3 jetfoils for Pusan~Fukuoka with the Japanese company, JR Kyushu.
Through this addition, the KME Korea/Japan route will serve 5 times daily and they expect to be busy with human and cargo transportation.
These jetfoils, also called "planes of the sea", are the newest type of passenger ship and have jet engines installed by Boeing. They can serve at 45 knots (about 83 km).
Korea Marine Express has run jetfoils since 1991, and they expect to transport 35 thousand people this year and 38 thousand next year in the route.
