Lloyd Triestino makes its debut on the transatlantic trade
Lloyd Triestino (LT), the Italian container carrier, is to enter the North Atlantic trade in February 2003.
The new service has been made possible through an extension of LT’s participation on the NUE pendulum weekly service which links Asia, North America and North Europe. LT has carried cargo on the transpacific string of the NUE service since February 2002 and this has now been extended to cover the sector from the US West Coast to North Europe via Panama and the US East Coast.
The first eastbound sailing will be made by the 4229TEU container vessel Ever Royal, departing Los Angeles on 1 February and New York on 15 February. Westbound sailings from Europe will commence with the sailing of Ever Royal from Antwerp on 24 February.
The complete vessel rotation for the US - North Europe - US sector of the NUE service is:
Los Angeles - Colon - Charleston - Norfolk - New York - Antwerp - Bremerhaven - Thamesport - Rotterdam - Le Havre - New York - Norfolk - Charleston - Colon - Los Angeles - Oakland.
