MOMAF manager takes position at IMO

Mr. Kim Sungjin, planning budget division manager at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, was selected as the new budget manager for the International Maritime Organization (IMO), beating out 120 competitors from all over the world.
The Korean Embassy in the United Kingdom revealed that the selection was reported by the IMO on October 24. The IMO, with 162 member countries, has around 300 employees from all over the world in London. The budget manager is in charge of budgets and planning projects for the IMO.
Mr. Kim was from the 25th administrative examination and studied at Seoul Nat`l University, Wales University in the U.K., and is well known in MOMAF as one of their foremost shipping experts. He also worked for the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) for four years from 1995.
With Mr. Kim's appointment, the IMO has two Korean staff including Mr. Min Kyoungrae, a cargo manger in the Maritime Security Bureau at the IMO since 1994. Beside this, Mr. Ra Jongil, Ambassador to the U.K., Mr. Chae Ishik, professor at Korea University, and Mr. Im Kitaek, manager of MOMAF worked in the groups concerned with IMO.
