Pitney Bowes Names Danzas Exclusive Provider of Global Supply Chain Services
Danzas, the logistics pillar of Deutsche Post World Net, has been chosen by Pitney Bowes Inc., a world leader in mail and document management solutions, as the exclusive manager of Pitney Bowes’ worldwide supply chain management services
The multi-year agreement enables Pitney Bowes to leverage multiple elements of the Deutsche Post World Net logistics network to achieve seamless and compelling synergies across its global supply chain. Among the highlights:
Danzas will manage Pitney Bowes’ worldwide air and ocean traffic. In addition, Danzas will direct Pitney Bowes’ North American import brokerage operations, as well as warehousing services at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and at Milton, U.K.
Danzas will also manage Pitney Bowes’ pan-European shipments to provide the most cost-effective transportation solutions within this important market.
Securicor, part of the EXPRESS Division of Deutsche Post World Net, will expand its existing relationship with Pitney Bowes for services throughout the U.K. and from U.K. factories to customers throughout Europe.
Pitney Bowes will also utilize Danzas AEI Intercontinental’s Warehouse Management System (LOGIS WMS), to achieve real-time visibility of its global inventory, which includes critical and non-critical parts. LOGIS WMS, supported by the rest of Danzas's powerful IT solutions, will help Pitney Bowes drive down its inventory costs, strengthen its reporting capabilities, and anticipate and react to sudden changes in end-user demand.
“Danzas offers an exceptional end-to-end logistics solution to our global challenges,” said Ron Sawchuk, director, European procurement, Pitney Bowes. “Danzas not only brings extensive logistics resources to the table, but it brings an ability to seamlessly integrate all of its resources. As a result, Danzas will be able to accommodate our future supply-chain needs as demand for our products and services grows in size and complexity.”
Danzas’s world-class technology, most notably the LOGIS WMS inventory management system supplied by Danzas AEI Intercontinental, was a key factor in solidifying the relationship, said Sawchuk.
“Inventory control is a top priority for us, especially as we grow our global footprint,” he said. “Through LOGIS WMS, we will have a clearer view of product flows than ever before. This will enable us to reduce inventory bloat while maintaining our delivery commitments to customers and to Pitney Bowes’ internal production lines. We will become a more nimble, efficient and customer-responsive enterprise, and we will drive a substantial amount of unproductive costs out of our system.”
“We are pleased that a global powerhouse like Pitney Bowes has embraced the unique benefits that the Deutsche Post World Net network can offer,” said Hans Toggweiler, Head of Danzas North America. “By integrating our depth and breadth of coverage with our world-class product line and innovative IT services, we are able to provide Pitney Bowes with custom-tailored logistics services from a single source.”
Pitney Bowes is a $4.1 billion global provider of leading-edge integrated mail and document management solutions for businesses of all sizes. The company is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.
