Korea/US agree to sign CSI

The Customs Service of Korea and the United States agreed to ink on the Container Security Initiative (CSI) in principle.
Mr. Lee, Minister of the Korea Customs Service and Mr. Turner, Minister of US Customs Service, agreed on terms that the CSI is an efficient strategy to secure swift customs clearance and safe container cargo transportation. Both of them decided to sign the CSI as quickly as possible, dispatching work teams and keeping in close touch each other to exchange information and cooperation.
In principle, they agreed that mere transit cargoes though the Port of Pusan would be excluded from inspection lists and Korea would take charge of the inspection process for the suspicious cargoes. If they found cargoes far from the law, cargoes would then be under the control of the exporting countries. Further, the US will pick up all of costs incurred by the inspections.
The Customs Service explained that the CSI would help fast customs clearance and save logistic costs while cutting off arms to the nation and exposing other dangerous cargoes.
